Henry Gidney was a leader of the Anglo-Indian community of India and founded the All India Anglo-Indian Association in 1926. He led the campaign to raise funds for the Indian Hockey team that participated at Amsterdam 1928 Olympic Games, where the team that won the Gold Medal included nine Anglo-Indians.
